Chondroitin sulfate

What is chondroitin sulfate? What does it do in the human body? Chondroitin sulfate is a mucopolysaccharide extracted from animal cartilage, a polysaccharide composed of repeating disaccharide units in which D-glucuronic acid and N-acetylgalactosamine are linked by β-1,4-glycosidic bonds. And sulfation occurs at the C-4 or C-6 hydroxyl group of N-acetylgalactosamine. Chondroitin sulfate protects corneal collagen fibers and promotes fiber growth in the matrix. It also improves blood circulation, speeds up metabolism and eliminates inflammation.

The effects of chondroitin sulfate are summarized as follows:

1,Chondroitin sulfate is used for the prevention and treatment of coronary heart disease, angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, coronary atherosclerosis, myocardial ischemia and other diseases, which can significantly reduce the morbidity and mortality of patients with coronary heart disease. Long-term clinical applications have found that lipids such as fat deposited on arterial and venous walls can be effectively removed or reduced, significantly reducing plasma cholesterol, thereby preventing the formation of atherosclerosis.

2, chondroitin sulfate is used to effectively improve neuralgia, joint pain, neuropathic migraine, arthritis and scapular joint pain.

3,Chondroitin sulfate is an important nutrient for the formation of chondrocytes, stroma and joint fluid, helping to produce more collagen and increase bone density.

4, chondroitin sulfate can promote the synthesis and metabolism of chondrocytes, accelerate the regeneration of new bone after fracture; maintain the function of articular cartilage, and effectively improve arthritis symptoms such as joint stiffness and pain

5, chondroitin sulfate can enhance calcium ion absorption, prevent calcium loss, prevent cervical spondylosis, osteoporosis.
